L-PRF® (Leukocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin), derives from a small sample of the patient’s blood, taken at the point of care and processed to develop a Fibrin clot, Rich in Platelets and Leukocites.
It is actually the simplest hemo-component, easy to prepare, easy to handle, and offers several advantages in the clinical practice: favorable effects on hard and soft tissue healing (due to the presence of autologous fibrin enriched in platelets and growth factors); reduction of the postoperative discomfort; simple harvesting protocol; simplicity in use and no-need of manipulating the patient’s blood; well documented antibacterial properties thanks to the presence of leukocites; no need for primary closure of flaps, and so, no risk for early membrane exposure. The low economic impact in the final cost of any treatment has also to be taken into proper consideration. The fibrin clot is prepared under the form of a membrane that is rich in platelets, growth factors and cytokines necessary to produce rapid healing and efficient regeneration.
The learning curve required for the Natural Guided Regeneration procedures is short but it is mandatory to understand the biologic mechanisms in obtaining success with these procedures.
The aim of this course is to provide the biological and clinical basis for the correct use of L-PRF. Clinical protocols, scientifically validated, will be proposed; the various advantages of L-PRF compared to conventional regenerative procedures will be explained
the course consists in 10 synchronous online webinars conducted weekly, each immediately followed by an online assessment in the form of 15-minute a multi-choice examination. At the end of the course participants will receive the “Certificate in Clinical Applications of L-PRF“, issued by EIMS H.E.I..
At the end of the course, the participant will become familiar with the biological basis of Natural Guided Regeneration which comprehends Natural Bone Regeneration and Natural Tissue Regeneration. Participants will be able to distinguish the difference between traditional regeneration and Natural Guided Regeneration.
